Now this was something completely different … most enjoyable!

MaryJane, you are like the farmgirl angel—bringing women from all walks of life together to celebrate the “farmgirl” in all of us. The farm is a haven—restful and sweet with the sounds of birds mingling with the mirth of merry women remembering the everyday moments of joy to unpack them out and share them with one another. Thank you for such a delightful experience. Blessings all!

Farm Fair Weekend! What an absolutely GLORIOUS! weekend–the fair was fun, peaceful, inspiring, yummy, wonderful, happy … then to get to stay a night in the wall tent and sit and visit in the plum pit was magical-yet so very real … comforting … the women here know our hearts and this place feels nice and & warm …

July 2005 | Janice

Julie & Cindy Lou—No words can thank you enough for your sincere kindness and graciousness … and love. Thank you MaryJane for all of it … a never-to-be-forgotten weekend, and a memory to treasure forever. You are all treasures!

We just heard about MaryJanesFarm a week ago and we had to come see it in person! Who knew such a fabulous treasure has been here all along since 1985? By happenstance, I picked up MaryJane’s magazine in a small local bookstore. The message of support to the farmgirl-in-all-of us really struck a chord with me. I love wearing skirts and nail polish and mucking about in the garden and getting messy and working on lots of “projects.” I had no idea there was a whole sisterhood of tough gals who live it pretty. Our favorites at the farm: Cooking MaryJanesFarm dinners at our cottonwood kitchen, picking our salad & blueberries, the rabbits, chickens, and itchy goat “Halle,” hiking before breakfast, and of course, breakfast! Dory & Melissa were wonderful companions & what a treat to chat with MaryJane (and see the layout for the cover of her new book!). Thank you for a renewing & refreshing experience. We’re off to buy all your back issues and some of your bulk Hot & Creamy Cereal!

This is the place of my dreams—a place of nature and domesticity (hummingbirds, hollyhock, the softest rolling hills, as well as endless gardens, beautiful food and all the loving touches of home). It is a place where the past is revered—lovely antiques everywhere—and in use … not just to look at. It is a place of the future … organic, healthful food, environmental consciousness, re-purposing, recycling. I am in love with MaryJanesFarm and all you have done and intend to do here. Thank you for letting us share this magic place for these days. You have provided a lifetime of wonderful memories and ideas. Bless you!

I’m from not far away so I can visit this little piece of heaven many times again. This is my third trip but first for a stay in the wonderful tents. It was a grand experience—perfect in every way. Breakfast was wonderful, served by Julie & Dory. A very special visit with MaryJane after breakfast was the icing on the cake. Thank you, for creating such an outstanding spot for us to enjoy!!
A true fan,

Well, this doesn’t happen very often … I love to write and it’s usually quite easy for me to express my pleasure, gratitude, etc., but I’m at a loss for finding just the right words. Somehow, my dear friend B.J. knew that this would be the perfect gift for me and just what I needed. In less than 24 hours I feel peaceful, joyful, and content! The tents, the bed & pillows, the flowers, all of the amazing little touches—each one so thoughtful and genuine! Our own little “plum pit” was perfect! We had a beautiful campfire, laughed, talked, played cards and enjoyed the wonderful company & hospitality of Julie, Dory, & MaryJane—thank you all for your thoughtfulness—it is truly appreciated!

I never knew that hard work could be so much fun—loved the food from the gardens and greenhouses, the packaged food from the food facility, mornings sipping tea on the deck of the wall tent, evenings reading by the light of a kerosene lamp, friendly farm crew, and chickens to entertain. I thoroughly enjoyed my farmgirl apprenticeship.
Thanks!

MaryJane and farm crew, This is such a beautiful area and a breathtaking farm. It is clear just how much love and care goes into everything here. I am so happy to know that a serene and pristine place like this exists. My whole experience here went far beyond my hopes and expectations. MaryJane, thank you for opening your heart and your farm so that people like me can come from a distance to see it. Your vision and your farm and this organic way of life have truly inspired me. Thank you, and big thanks to your wonderful and kind staff. It is great to be around such happy, healthy people. Much peace and love

July 30–31, 2005 | Kristina & Kip

We were married yesterday evening and were so pleased to settle into the tent for the night after a long (fun, but tiring!) week. This is pure beauty and I would love to live here. We will surely be back again. Thank you for creating such a perfect blend of natural and comfort. Happy farming.
Love,
Kristina & Kip

MaryJane, Megan, and all,
This has been unexpectedly lovely on such short notice. The fresh flowers, the beautiful bed, and the warm welcome. What a gift to be allowed to read the draft of the Farm Kitchen magazine! It is lovely and soon I will own by own copy. We have sun today for our second stay here. Rain and cold on our last visit. The wind through the trees all night reminds me of the rolling ocean waves. It is so peaceful.

Dear MaryJane and all the wonderful folks here at the farm— What a Wonderful way to spend our 48th wedding anniversary. It was an incredible experience. We had a wonderful sleep in the wall tent. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Thank you for the card and candle, and all the nice moments of our stay. We’ll stay in touch by way of the magazine and hope to return again.
Love,
Jeanne, WA

Dear MaryJane,
This place, on a windy fall night, seemed like an island of peace and beauty, comfort and hospitality after my week of strange travels. You have given us a gift I see manifested everywhere I look—a rural home shaped by an artist’s eye and a sense of what, on every level, is RIGHT, and true. Your focused attention to detail draws my attention in turn, to the littlest parts and moments of life, and your grand vision is equally inspiring. My admiration for you and for this place is true and profound. Congratulations on all you have accomplished, and best wishes in all that is to come.
With love and gratitude,
Karen Fisher, Dave, Grant and Lachlan

Thank you for creating & sharing such an awesome space of peace and relaxation. My stay was one of excitement, solitude, relaxation, wonder, exploration, and connection. Thank you also for all the amazing little details—the gardens and the animals were delightful, especially the quails that came to roost in our plum trees each evening.

November 13-14, 2005 | Christina

MaryJane and friends, Thank you so much for your hospitality and for the cozy accommodations in the tent. You made my first (and hopefully not last) trip to Idaho a memorable one! My children would love it here! Thank you again and I hope we’ll be seeing more of you in the future!
