      Unique Button Collection
      starting at Price: $459.00
      Availability: sold out

Button, button, who’s got the button? I do, close to 300 pounds of buttons to be exact. To be the owner of such a large stash of buttons has been a privilege, and to be truthfully on the mark (and on the button, as the saying goes), a major sorting and cataloging endeavor. My button stash started out more than just a few pounds heavier, actually, something like 400 pounds heavier. They were offered to me many years ago by a neighbor: “My husband’s family owned a button store in Seattle for more than 100 years. When it closed, we brought the buttons here to our barn. If you want them, they’re yours.” As I recall, I paid $1000 for her stash, and that’s when we began to sort out our button life. Along the way, I filled all my vintage canning jars full of buttons (shelf décor), made button art, lamps, and jewelry and gifted little cloth sacks of precious buttons to everyone and anyone. Two of my grand girls sold buttons on their Etsy shop. At some point, I scored two big nail bins from a hardware store that was being remodeled and continued to sort, and then sort some more. All the buttons are perfectly organized in clean, new Ziplock baggies of appropriate sizes. Presently, they’re sorted by colors in paper sacks that can be easily folded, stacked, and tucked into boxes for shipping. That’s where you come in. I’d like to re-home them to just one home, business, quilt shop, yarn shop … Each button is a precious gem, a thing of beauty.

Vintage Fur Coat for Creating Stuffed Animals
            starting at Price: $14.95
            Availability: sold out

In the 2017 “To Grandma’s House We Go” issue of my magazine, we used vintage coats to make stuffed animals. This fur coat has enough wear and tear on it that isn’t luxuriously wearable anymore but it could be given a second life by turning it into the real deal, stuffed animals made from real fur (coat does not shed at all). Or perhaps something else you can dream up—ear muffs, hats, pillows, a rug?
