So you’ve been pondering a foray into the agritourism trade. If you have a garden, maybe some fruit trees, and a bit of open space, you can do what we successfully did at MaryJanesFarm a few years ago—we offered memberships in a unique kind of farm-based Country Club. It was an idea that was hands-down a hit with about a dozen families the first year we opened it. By becoming a member of our “exclusive,” one-of-a-kind Country Club, visitors to our farm enjoyed the bounty of owning their own farm, but without the workload or the worry.
Below is the language we used for our Country Club brochure; please feel free to tailor it to fit your own needs and schedule. (Simply find a 3-fold, 8½” x 11” brochure template online, add your own photos, and print double-sided on your color printer.)
Membership Includes:
- Access to the farm from dawn to dusk seven days per week.
- U-pick fruits and vegetables at market price (self-serve).
- 10% discount on Bed & Breakfast farmstays.
Costs & Schedule:
Our Country Club is open throughout our growing season, June 1–September 30. Your $100 seasonal membership, which covers your entire household and even your out-of-town visitors, buys you a “key to the farm.” Then you’ll simply “pay as you pick,” self-serve. Prices will be posted in an outdoor pavilion, and containers and tools will be provided.
The Club:
Our Country Club season begins June 1 and ends September 30. Your membership includes an entrance sticker for your car and a training session on tool use and farm etiquette. With your sticker, you’ll be given a “key to the farm,” seven days a week, from dawn to dusk. Then choose from:
- Lettuce
- Spinach
- Variety of Greens
- Herbs
- Cabbage
- Cucumbers
- Garlic
- Green Beans
- Green Peppers
- Hot Peppers
- Potatoes

Things to Do While You’re Here:
Pick a bouquet of flowers; gather farm-fresh, free-range chicken eggs; lounge in one of our relaxing hammocks; pitch a game of horseshoes; or enjoy a picnic in our outdoor kitchen. Being a member entitles you to leisurely strolls through our gardens and orchards, fresh plucked fruit, every kind of vegetable imaginable, plus bouquets of flowers from several gorgeous flower gardens. You can take home fresh eggs, sit a spell under the shade of a tree, lie in a hammock, eat a picnic in one of our outdoor kitchens, stop to listen to the hundreds of songbirds that live at MaryJanesFarm, or better yet, let a gentle breeze wash away your cares.
